I used to watch guys practising aerobatics in these in front of our house when I was a kid.

It's a Pitts Special aerobatic biplane, taken from above as as semi-abstract.

Thanks for your comments. This was taken with my DMR 28-90 asph at the Science Museum in London and converted in LR1.3.

Azzo,

It's a cut out above the cockpit, so the pilot can see above his head for aerobatic formation flying.
