Default Bull Race in Provence

In many villages in the area of Nimes and Arles, it is a tradition to chase small bulls through the town. The bulls are surrounded by the horses, and the crowd tries to catch the bull by the tail and stop it. Not easy to catch this without autofocus --- quite a bit of hit and miss. Shot with M8 and 90 2.8.

Great to see that this sort of madness still goes on in France! We saw it 25 years ago and thought that it could not last much longer. The "bulls" are actually not much more than six weeks old and seemed to get just as much enjoyment from the game as the folks involved. It all goes a bit wrong as they get older.

Superb shot, the wild eye of the horse makes it.

Good to see these old traditions still going on. Trust the French to knock political correctness for six. Good for them. You've caught the tension very well. A good example of why absolute sharpness is not necessary for a good photo.
