Yes there are some more (there were maybe 15 of these cars competing, more than I've ever seen together before), also I have more of the 250 GTO, which you requested but I'll drip-feed these minority interest shots. Pity we did not get the cars forum, which we voted for. ![]() |

Ron, I am totally ignorant of the facts but every time I see a Dino 246, I think it has been copied from this Porsche, is there a connection? |

Pete, you´re ignorant of the facts
The GTS/904 came in ´63, the 246´s older brother is the 206 which Ferrari launched back around ´58. Nethertheless i prefer the GTS racing car over the Italian 246 housewife´s-car

Great pic of a Type 904 Pete.
I still find it somewhat unbelievable that Eugen Bohringer (apologies if spelt wrongly) drove on of these to 2nd place behind a Mini in the snow and ice of a Monte Carlo Rally in the early 1960's (I think there was some form of handicapping in those days). It did have some sort of petrol powered heater in it! Regards Ian |

Tony- not much lead in a Lotus; except when dictated by the handicapper because they were beating the opposition too often! ![]() Ian, thanks: cars were more versatile in those days, maybe. |

I think the Dino 246 was about 1972 - I had one in 1973 when we had the Ferrari dealership in Bristol. It never did the jtwice weekly journey from Surrey to Bristol without something going wrong - always trivial but maddening. A real eye catcher but not very quick. Wish I'd kept it just for the appreciation but I think it would have had to be rebuilt by now.
