I don't understand. If people don't comment on your photo is it good form to push it to the top of the pile after 6 months?

Anyhow, it's not a bad idea, but there's too much crap on the surface of the water. Needs to be a clean shot to have impact.

Steve,
I´m not living in your time-system. 24 hrs are not 6 months over here.
Anyhow, I wish to understand WHY the photo is wrong for the international forum.
I don´t want the "nice shot", "rich colors", "Leica-sharpness"-comments like a lot of other poor photos always get here, I want to understand why it did not work.

R.

p.s. I had no time to filter the water, it´s not a swimming pool but a big river and we have sort of fall over here

Sorry Ron, my brain must be giving up on me - I read your forum join date and thought it was the date that you posted the picture. I really must remember to take the pills I was given - if only I could remember where I put them.

Anyhow, to return to the image, I still think the water should have a clean surface for this kind of shot. I understand that this wasn't a studio shot, but I still feel that the surface would benifit from being clear. The shot is about clean movement IMHO, and I think it would be improved by a clean surface.

Steve, i understand what you like. To me the natural waves add to the strict graphical aspect of the moving canoe. Personally I disliked the leaves on the water.

I like it, but I would crop a lot tighter. I would make the wake the same length as the boat hull, then I would crop from the top and the bottom to make the boat dead center from top to bottom. I think this would make for a very graphic and abstract composition. Nice work.

Why should it make any difference whether this shot is on the International Forum or the German forum?

Loads of shots get no comments on this forum - maybe it's different "over there". (Edit: I see that you have had some responses there)

The title of the shot doesn't help, either, I'm afraid. They're all "photos"

If you want lots of comments, post shots of cars taken with film. But then you know that already

This one is not to my taste, I'm afraid.

The only thing I can think is that because you are not plumb over the top there is a depth of field, and a loss of symmetry. I figure in this instance those things do not help the image.

Alternatively for those who take umbrage,

Taken with a Leica lens it shows. Stunning clarity. I can see why you use Leica, well seen, done, decisive blah blah blah....

Eh..Regards
