I'd correct the verticals, and leave it at that.

Chris,
I can't tell for sure, but the tartan appears to be McDonald of the Isles. If this was taken in Argyll, I would have thought Campbell country. Perhaps an out-of-town band?

I think you may be right about the tartan being Macdonald, However the band is from Mid Argyll, which was formerly Campbell country, but many a grudge is still carried to this day, and I suspect the choice if tartan maybe one of defiance
