Default Join The Club

Anyone with a cheque book can join the outer two clubs; the middle one is rather more exclusive.

Shame about the enamel on the badge.

Doc,
They are shock-absorbers. Before someone thought of hydraulic/telescopics they used friction dampers.

My first car was a well-used early Brit afffair with rather expensive lever shocks. I like your framing and details. If I were the owner I think I'd hunt up a skilled artisan to fix the enamel.
