Default Bmercw

Grandchildren had fun with their father's car on Boxing day. Premonition?

Anthony -

And what happened when you discovered that the tape removed both paint & chrome?

Pete,

It's just as often the wife that puts children up ... and not the grandfather (who is, ofcourse a very responsible man of age and would never do a thing like that)

Now that I think of it, I see the wicked smile of my grandfather ...

Pete - It was a bit more serious than that. I mucked up the number plate so that the vehicle couldn't be identified. My son has the BMW dealership so the grandchildren were really stirring it. The badge was made of tin foil - you can just see the shadow - and was stuck on with blue tack. There were laughs all round. (Clare and I both have Mercedes.)

Not much has changed over the years. the grandchildren all want Minis as many young people did in the 1960s - just that the current BMW Mini is properly designed and built. The 1959 onwards Leyland mini was largely a disaster unless you rebuilt it.
