Dugout - A Story about Little League and My Journey into Leica

So please excuse me if the story is a bit long winded.

I started photographing my son's Little League baseball team since they had their very first practice in summer of 2013, using Fuji X-Pro1 with a pair of adapted R lenses (Summicron-R 35mm and APO-Macro-Elmarit-R 100mm). I was able to get decent shots around the dugout but was never happy with shots around the home plate as the cage's always in the foreground.

After a bit of research, I learned that some rangefinder lenses are small enough to fit through the cage's metal links. Entered Voigtlander Nokton Classic 40mm S.C., my first M mount lens, again adapted for X-Pro1. I loved the faux rangefinder experience of Fuji and Voigtlander combo so much that, 2 months after the lens purchase, I decided to get an used M8 in order to completely immerse myself into the rangefinder experience. Never look back since. =)

The following set of photos were taken during the 2014 fall season, which just came to an end with the team losing in the semi-final. All shots were taken on M8, post processed via Capture One Express. Your comments and feedbacks are appreciated.

And last but not least, my son. This was his last at bat at the semi-final game. He worked his way up from last in the batting order a year ago to #5 at the last game. No chance of him ever becoming a power hitter but he surely has developed nicely into a consistent contact hitter. Very proud of him and his hard work. Until spring 2015 season...
