Maseratis at the Rolex Motorsports Reunion

Every year the Organizers of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance select & announce an 'honored' and specially featured marque, which then sees the best and most historic cars of that brand invited to participate, including cars from the many manufacturer;s museums. When not converted into pure showcars, some of these jewels also participate in the vintage races at the Laguna Seca race-track so the cognoscenti can hear & see these priceless trasures in the environment for which they were created.

 

This year it was MASERATI, on the occasion of their centennial.

 

Below, a brief 10-shot sequence of some of the more noteworthy Maseratis on display, starting with a couple of one of the firms grandest (and most desperate) attempts to win in the big-name endurance races, then a couple of images of the sole surviving 4.5 liter V-8 engined Tipo 151 closed coupe ( of the 3 originally produced ), and per Stuart's request, the rest are of some T 60 & T 61 "Birdcages", called by many the most beautiful sports racer ever produced, and ending with a shot of one the firm's magnificent, highly successful 250 F Grand-Prix winning Formula 1 race cars.
