Is this a Photographic Reconnaissance Spit?

Thanks folks- we saw another Spitfire over Liverpool yesterday, two different ones in 7 days- amazing!

Michael; they seem to re-paint these aircraft every couple of years to "represent" different things; you could be right with your assumption (do you remember the pink PR one from a few years ago?!). If I could read the registration, I could tell you exactly what it is and most of its history.

Here is a captive PR Spitfire, note the camera window in the side.

Hi Pete

I really like the flying shot of the Spit. The all mid-blue colour scheme is usually the PR version. The very light all blue paint sceme was of course used by Vickers Supermarine for the very first civilian prototype flown from Easteigh airport, Southampton.

I also missed this first time around Pete, thanks for showing.
