fotografr Posted July 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) We were treated to a spectacular sunset this evening so I ran down to the bridge and did some HDR shots with the DLux6. stuny Posted July 7, 2014 Share #3 Posted July 7, 2014 Quite lovely, but the HDR impact is a bit too much for me.
fotografr Posted July 7, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) Quite lovely, but the HDR impact is a bit too much for me. Yes, clearly the HDR look isn't for everyone. I only recently discovered the HDR function on the DLux6 so have used it for a couple of situations. I've never been a big fan of the HDR look, myself. On the other hand, I shot a few frames of this sunset in my usual RAW format and they were so contrasty I couldn't do a thing with them. When the sky was properly exposed the trees along the shore were absolutely black. Edited July 7, 2014 by fotografr
drdannn Posted July 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 7, 2014 It's a beautiful scene and sunset. The hdr is powerful. I would like to see an edited version without hdr just for the fun of it.

Thanks, Dan. Actually, the non-HDR shots looked so bad I dumped them. Here's one of the HDR shots right out of the camera with no additional Photoshop work done. Welcome, dear visitor!
