DDP -

On the front fender of the GTO? Nicely rendered, subtly suggesting the contours that I don't know if they would make sense if I didn't know the Scuderia Ferrari badge, placement and contours.

Astonishing autro. Place your order now and you might get one in 4 1/2 years, assuming they are still in production then.

This, and the other Ferrari image (i.e. the frontal of the hood, air intake and prancing horse) on Velvia, truly are stunning as Stuart points out, Dan.

Thanks for sharing! Let us see more!

A friend is expecting his 430 any day, he traded a 360 spyder f4 with only 800 miles on it it for the 430. It needed an oil change.

I have never understood why anyone buys a car like that and then only drives it 800 miles. I'd drive it 800 miles in the first weekend I had it, if it were mine

Like buying a Leica and putting it in a glass display case, I suppose, but I am sure that Snr Ferrari would not approve.

Andy -

It's remarkably how many Ferraris (and Lambos, etc) have very low number of miles on their odometers. If I had a 430 I'd drive it constantly.

I can't understand having so much money to buy a car like that, and then not use it at all. But I guess such cars are bought mainly for show, not for driving around in.

I guess that, for some, the pleasure of possessing a thing exceeds the pleasure of using it.

Thank goodness we're not like that with our Leicas

A friend with a 328 seldom uses it and every 5 years he has to replace the timing belts (at great cost) even though actual usage would not dictate it.

See, now what's the point of that? This is all beyond me.

I have an 11 year old F355 and it's the best car to drive, but not everyday. A Ferrari does not stand up well to the wear and tear of frequent use because they tend to be wide, low slung and highly stressed. It's the sort of car where, after 20 miles, you're asking yourself "aren't we there yet?"

I have taken to using it on trips to the supermarket recently, to the bemusement and annoyance of other people when I park it across two parking spaces. Otherwise, can't open the doors to get out...

My car is meant to have its belts replaced every three years but it's really a kind of insurance policy against the belts letting go and wrecking the engine. I stretch it to 4 years.

But you use it Mark. I have to confess, that from the point of view of someone who will most likely never be able to afford to even rent a Ferrari, I think everybody realizes that they aren't the most practical of vehicles (although I had no idea it was as uncomfortable as you say, I've heard that Lamborgini's are stupid to drive in town because you have to stay in first gear the whole time), but if one has the money to buy one, I just don't think it should sit around, it should be used.
