Default Crossing Grand Ave

Proctor and Gamble in the background. Shot with the 50 summicron and tmax 100. The engine is facing backwards.

Great lines and diagonals in this composition, Bill.

Could it use a bit more contrast? I can't tell on this crappy laptop monitor....

Doesn't look like Cincinnati...not enough soot and ash in the air!

Thanks.

Allan

Looks OK on my G4 Powerbook. A nice shot, but the edges are a bit scrappy.

IIRC, T.R.R.A is the Terminal Railroad Association of St Louis? Most railroads would normally prefer to run a 'road switcher' short hood forward for visibility reasons - hence this loco is running backwards .

Thanks John and Allan. Yes it is TRRA in St.Louis, MO. The shot was taken right after they bought that engine and painted it. It was a sharp shiney red engine with all their cool decals. I think they make laundry detergent there and accross the street is the Cascade plant which you can not see. Terminal was doing a transfer leaving the N.S yard over back to Madison IL, across the river to their main hub. Terminal mainly has the 1200 and 1500 switchers in use.
