Default Ladies' Day at Aintree

Just a few snaps from this afternoon.

A very, very funny day, all round

All taken with my wife's little basic Panoleica

Pete -

Excellent series and I most especially like 3 & 4 for composition, color, angle, action. # I reminds me of Melbourne Cup day in Oz, with all the women in party dresses and hats.

Thanks guys.

This was a Panasonic DMC-FX3 with the DC Vario-Elmarit ASPH

Cheap and cheerful. Nothing special.

Why no more comments? Each one of these stands up on it's own?

Nice shots Andy. I bought an LX2 because I wanted RAW, but the smaller Panasonic was tempting, if it had RAW I would have bought one.

Of course the photographer does have something to do with your excellent photographs :-). Looks like great light and perfect exposure too.

Great pics Andy.

Fab colour and a few young ladies.

2nd Racing pic is my preferred, but the hats come close.

Andy, good shots. One of the few places you can see women in hats - nice hats at that. Here in Charleston we have the "hat ladies", a group of women who parade around in hats (natch) on special and some not so special occasions. They really do seem to be reserved for special events which is a shame.

Andy,

You've done very well - to stay sober!! Whenever I go to Gold Cup day at Cheltenham, I take my M6, 35 lux and I've failed to get anything much over the years. Too busy queueing at the bookies, in the champagne bar or chatting to my buddies (our hospital almost shuts down for the week as so many people go). Maybe next year.
