Default Decisive Moment

This really was a decisive moment, fortunately the R-D1 viewfinder allowed me to keep both eyes open and decide to get out of the way to keep all my camera stuff dry!

R-D1, Summilux 50 Asph, ISO 200, 1/200 sec.

just the jumping water is not a "Decisive Moment" for me, the right picture part is boring, at the left there are some people standing. the tonal range is flat, no black and white tones.. best Stefan

Respects to Stephan but I think it's a really good image - maybe you could have cropped the right side a little but the unusual nature of the catch and excellent timing makes it for me.

JR, Robert, - Thank you for your comments

Stephan, - My title was intended as a little "tongue-in-cheek" humor, meaning, with both eyes open I decided at that moment to get myself and camera out of the way of the waves breaking against the seawall.

Very good picture. Congratulations! You really caught the special moment, just before the water hits the people. Look at these faces. Of course the right part of the picture is needed, to show where the situation happens and to receive an impression of the special shape and size of this beautiful wave. Well done, especially without 5fps

Mister imported_grrr must be blissfully ignorant

Best regards

Philip, Lucas - Thank you for your supportive comments.

Stefan, I especially want to thank you for your observation regarding Black and White tones in your first post. I visited your web site and now I have a real sense of the kind of tones you are talking about. Your work has given be a visual goal to work toward.
