Default in doubt

hello everyone hope you alle enjoy summer; I have just done a few portraits for a Danish singer that turned out as expected expressionwise;

They're all shot with M8 summicron 50mm (1976 I guess). The background is a sheet lit by a window; The front light is a 200watt bowens unilite. Minimal post adjustment in photoshop.

However I think they're all good so I'm in doubt on which shot to choose since I only need one.

Please help with your appreciated feedback as always;

Nik

Nik -

The implication is that he will hum on this album rather than sing:-).

I think you can easily eliminate 3 & 4. #1 would be my choice if not for the blown highlights on the left. Then it's close, but I think #5. Very nice.

#2 for me. The only one where he is not avoiding the viewer.

Another vote for #5 if you're still keeping score.

Personal preference: the shadows in the others needed to be lifted a tad. My vote would have been cast for #2, had that been the case.

Cheers!

What's the intended meaning of the tape? He isn't being silenced in any way and from his body language he doesn't appear to be either coerced, outraged or really threatening. Looks like a teenage prank. The processing is nice & I like the faded bokeh on the arms & ink. That has some grit & character. This just seems totally staged.
