Portrait of the Artist...

This is the late Canadian artist Carl Schaffer. This picture was used as the picture of Schaffer for the catalogue of a retrospective exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada, and is (somewhere) in their collection. Pleases me no end.

Hi Michael,
Fantastic light and composition.
With a little (very little...) touch of light in his eyes (or face...) it would be perfect for me.
But great capture anyway...

Thank you all - very gracious. It is a little small because the original scan was low-ish resolution and I did not rescan - should have. Lightening up the shadow side of the face is a little tricky - the negative is a bit thin.
