Brent, I think I prefer the first one but it's a close run thing. I'd have been more than happy to take either - and I expect her parents are happy with the results too.

ditto.... a lighter moment..I prefer this one... its shows her humorous side..same exposure clipping that I am sure is not on the slide.

Thanks John--and thanks for the explanation of the old forum list. I haven't known about this because I use the Nikon Scan software with my Coolscan V, however I'll look for the option with the Microtek because I use Silverfast with that one.

Hi Brent

I definietly prefer this one - it's so natural and comes over as unposed - it is a bit burned on the highlights in the hair on my monitor too but I suspect the forum is maybe running a little bright and it may not be your input.
