Default ballerina & admirer

each year the Houston Theater District holds an open house in which performers from the symphony, theater, ballet meet with the public to promote the arts
Allison Miller is a fine dancer with the Houston Ballet and graciously posed for photographs with youngsters, one of which I captured using the M8 and the CV 40 Nokton

this was taken at ISO 640

a larger version, along with shooting information & some other photographs from this event can be found in my pbase gallery here performances & festivals Photo Gallery by Artichoke Vinagrette at pbase.com

Arthur -

Excellent composition, moment, light(!) and color. I think it would benefit from a bit of sharpening

This would be a charming image if it were only of the ballerina & child. But the complexity introduced by the "double exposure" of the poster is a real treat! Thank you!

Default thanks Stuart, Ben & Kirk

this was a sweet event
having so many performers meet with their public & in particular youngsters promotes the vibrant Gulf Coast arts scene
Stuart, I find your version a bit over sharpened for my taste, though I realize you worked on a file that was already sharpened once and reduced in size for the web
I sometimes use two stage sharpening to add "pop" but for this I wanted pretty much the look I got
I may rework this at some point
