It's my kind of photo --tells a story, with great composition and timing.

Ben,
Made me smile for some reason. I think you've caught a mixture of concentration and resignation on the face of the young man. LouisB

Michael, Ivan, Louis, Rob, Stu & Falstaff, thanks for looking and leaving your comments.
This older chess master is one of the real, true assets of the chess group. A lovely, caring, generous man with a real sense of honor and caring. I spent most of that Sunday with him. He had strategically positioned himself at the first table at the southwestern entrance. I set up my tripod next to him to try out my T250 with the Digilux 3 (giving me a 500mm lens). That's also how I got the shot of the "Crew" member & several others. Anyway, I played hawker, suggesting to passerbys to play this sweet man & he gladly took their money. He did quite well that day. This last shot was a gem for me. It took almost 10 minutes for me to convince this obviously bright young man in a suit to challenge the old man. After he lost the third game in a row (and his money), he got up to leave, shook may hand and thanked me for getting him to partake in the games. We were all gratified by the experience. |
