A very well caught series Jonathan. Lovely tonality in them.
I find the last image very strong.

Jonathan -

The first set was quite nice, but I like this one even better -- Perhaps it's the off-center angle to your subject.

Really compelling. I like the contrasts and the slightly overblown highlights,
in tune with the breathing.
Only glitch : a lot of artefacts (hands, lips), perhaps due to an oversized file
(I had the same problem recently).

It might be that your pictures are a bit too fat for the 244 Kb/950 limit.
The system crops it.

Sthan,
I don't know what causes the artefacts...I haven't had the problem before this batch...maybe the lab scanned them at a higher resolution???

The old chineese technique of Qigong (prononced chi-gong). It works we should all be doning it daily

Are these full frame - or did you crop after shooting? It is a brave composition and it has worked.

Nicely done on the sequence, Jonathan!
I also like the unconventional compositions.

(Wikipedia link) Falun Dafa introduced in China in 1992 and banned by the Chinese government in 1999, is a modern and spiritual/religous/sect like following derivative of the original Chinese QiGong (Qi - energy Gong - breath).

This now explains to me the reluctance of Chinese masters to teach me advanced qigong techniques during my recent (and first) visit to China attending a Tai Chi school.

Above does not distract from your fine photos
