Hi Ben
The colours, particularly in # 1, are superb and wholly suited to the Gipsy subject, the composition is highly atmospheric

Thanks all for you comments.
Rick, the only magic is playing with Leica glass & Photoshop’s LAB colorspace. No password required, just the time & patience to decipher the remixing and blending in this magical colorspace. Get Dan Margulis' book Photoshop LAB Color, one of the breakthrough tomes on digital imaging. He was one of the masters behind George Lucas's ability to make digital movies. His other book, Professional Photoshop is the Bible. Amado, No, I've never been inside, except to ask if I can take their portraits. You can imagine their response (emphatic NO!!!). I see the "employees" all the time in the street. Just regular thieves. Again, I implore you get your cousin to put a copy of Photoshop on your computer. Make sure to save images as 16 bit and convert to LAB. It's a whole new universe of color and contrast. You can do the same for B&W with amazing results. Andy, yes I use LR, to correct WB, exposure and initial contrast/details. The rest is PS & imagination. Cadtata, Ivan, Robert & Stu, thanks as always. |
