Interesting title and shot.
What I like the most is the muted colors against the sepia background creating a collage like appearance.

In the first the boy and his horse are strong enough that nothing else competes for attention...
The second one is interesting for her dress and her holding back what cold be laughter; a very nice expression.
The third is disturbing. That it LOOKS unthoughtout, unplanned, accidental (regardless of whether or not it is) gives it its force...that that expression and posture happened suddenly...

I agree with my two Chicagoan colleagues, and add they have an appealing vintage look as though hand colored.
