Glad you said crisp - thought I'd misread it for a moment !!
Not sure that I've cropped quite enough from the top but I only had 1/500 of a second to take the image...

Cor, what a handsome model you had, Robert, and he must've been a fast mover if you only had 1/500th of a second to get the shot!
![]() It's an interesting shot because, as John says, it's a crisp shot, which is typical of the 28 Elmarit aspherical, but it also shows up the lens's high contrast that may not be to everyone's taste. Pete.

Yes - it's a little bit of Ansel Adams' black at the top
it looks a bit darker now on my monitor than it did last night when I posted - still think I would've been better cropping about another centimetre from the top though..

that having been said some of the contrast may be down to me in post processing - but there is a fairly extreme tonal range going on there anyway

Robert -
Very nice light, venue, color and depth. It also will be helpful for those of us looking forward to sneaking up on Pete from behind, so we will sneak up on the right bloke. I suspect his wife would prefer that you shot him from the front. |

Very nice shot Robert! IMHO you don't need to crop the top - as it is it adds to the sense of perspective as well as emphasising the contrast between the bright light through the arches vs. the deep shadow of the ceiling.
