Default Flea Market Vendor

M2, 35lux
Here is a different view of this lovely woman that sells wonderful silk scarfs and other unusual items at the 25th ST Flea Market. In November, this building will be razed and the Market most likely replaced by an apartment building. Many very famous European and American actors and actresses roam the byways of the Flea with regularity. In the 1970's and 1980's, Greta Garbo could be seen almost every Sunday, wrapped and shrouded in outrageous head gear, totting a large canvas bag for her treasure hunts. I once witnessed her purchasing a small photograph of herself from a vendor. As Vonnegut so elegently discloses, So it goes.

Looks like an interesting place to visit next time I see my Dad and two brothers.
I like this shot as well. Funny, I would never have thought the photo of 'Two Women' was in this flea market.
The foreground is bit busy (with the brown paper bag and the ketchup bottle) but it's growing on me, I think because of the environment. I like the cup of joe in her hand.
Very good selective focus.

Ben -

Excellent moment and execution, and the tilted, full, coffee cup adds a bit of tension to the implied story. The venue is an interesting one to visit. Too bad it will soon be gone.

Amado. if you come to the City, let me know. I'd love to meet you and possibly shoot some film. The place will close by November, but there is a movement to find a new location and the outdoor flea market is now in full swing in Hell's Kitchen through the fall. The peple are more interesting than the items.

Just what we need in NYC, more luxury apartment buildings...If everything's a luxury building doesn't that mean that nothing is luxury?
