My first post; back to emulsion after a long travel in digital world.
Taken with Leica MP and Zeiss ZM , mostly 35/2, on Neopan Acros 100 ASA. I didn't like the low latitude of the Neopan film. Film was processed and scanned by Ilford Prints, UK. Asked for A4 size scanning, hence, not of great quality. Lightly re-touched in Lightroom; very few tweaking: mostly for recovering highlights, turning down saturation to take out the colour cast [don't know why, but there were some redish tint] and cropping. Advice on taking/reading exposure is more than welcome. Please C & C. Thanks. |

The third, mechanic image is very nice. I'd crop out the burned out top. Wonderful, gritty image with a down home workingman's feel & touch in the grain. Give us some more.

SS -
A very nice series, all with excellent moments, crop, contrast and tonal range. However, all but #2 seem oversharpened, especially the otherwise excellent #1. |

Welcome to the Forum.
Favour no. 1 for it's direct approach. I recognise that wheelbarrow - are you Manchester based ? Rolo

All your shots are interesting in this nice series. Would be very difficult to choose one since they are very different from each others. Thank you for sharing these images with us.

thank you all.
actually, i never sharpened any photo, it's just the low-res and scanning issue. i have learnt a lesson: do not crop from 100% view of a low-res scan. if i get a high-res photo, i would definitely crop out the over-exposed area and also the bit of the bottom of the construction-worker photo. with this roll, i was trying to concentrate on composition and contrast, and examine the results of my new camera. |

Hi Leica007,
I don't know who you use for photo development in Oxford, but I would highly recommend you speak to Paul Sims of Colourbox Techunique - he's a gent, and will handle all your requirements at not-extortionate prices. The only problem is, as as a result he tends to be very busy! Contact details here: Colourbox Techunique - Address, Contact, Information, Map & Directions - Local Brit If you speak to him, tell him I (Robert Hodnett) recommended you to him! Best regards, Rob |

Great shots. I like your series. The medium close up on the first shot really draws you in. Well done! Look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks for posting.

Hi, 007, very nice series.
If you don't want to process yourself, you will get best results with Ilford XP2 super or Kodak bw400 cn.
