Pierre-Olivier, a superb picture but too much post-processed. I see a line around his head and the skin is not "natural".

Pierre-Olivier:
Beautiful image but to add to some of the comments above the contrast is a bit extreme. That aside, you have an incredible talent for capturing humanity. Can you post the original color version for a look? Regards, Wilfredo www.BenitezRivera.ccom Last edited by wilfredo : 03/25/08 at 08:42 PM. |

The (subdued) color version really works, emphasizes the simplicity of the image, and personalizes it. B&W makes it too abstract. Either way, it's a wonderful photo and congratulations for the capture.

Pierre Olivier,
Firstly its a great shot. THe color version is just on the edge in terms of overdoing the PP. Both of the B&W are over processed IMO,, the 2nd is better but still too much. Of course just my opinion, kind regards andy

Hello Pierre Olivier,
fantastic picture!... ..I think the B/W versions are to much manipulated in PS...the color Version is very good in power and shadow/light balance... 80037d1206474091-monk-black-burma-l1004759.jpg sorry for doing that... ...but I like to show you, what I mean...regards, Jan

Pierre-Olivier,
Your third try is the best, although your color version is a powerful one. Thanks for posting. Ed. .

For me too the third one is the best (technically). But at the end of the day I really prefer the first one. Unfortunately I was wrong with the sharpening and could not adjust it. I like the tones of the first one and shall try to work it better in order to obtain an acceptable shot (technically speaking). B&W is a tough world but a good way for the learning process....
