Louis Posted March 19, 2015 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Younger, I worked in museums, and during my whole life, I have spent a great deal of my time in museums. After what happened in a Tunisian museum, and after what we saw some savages doing to museums in Iraq, I respect and sympathize even more with these people who spend countless hours in museums to protect what I call the soul of the civilizations. I would like to dedicate this thread to them. 109 Welcome, dear visitor! Suuumm55 Posted March 19, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 19, 2015 Hello Louis, interesting - people themselves become objects of art - - - graphically well captured
stuny Posted March 19, 2015 Share #6 Posted March 19, 2015 Louis - Quite lovely, and I agree with you completely -- We visit museums nearly everywhere we go. These are in the West Wing of the National? In honor of these I think I'll post one from last Saturday.
Louis Posted March 19, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted March 19, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Adam, Shahrookh, Rodrigue, Ingrid and Stuart, thank you so much for your supportive feedback. Rodrigue, I was not really thinking about the stolen art (that is by itself outrageous!) that hopefully, could be found one day; but, the destruction of all that ancient world heritage in Mosul. I have witnessed many atrocities in my life, but watching them breaking all those objects in pieces was extremely painful to me. It was as if I was receiving each stroke of hammer to my brain and soul!... The same was when other mad people destroyed that magnificent Buddha in Afghanistan a few years ago! Stuart, These were shot in Hirshhorn museum.

fotografr Posted March 20, 2015 Share #10 Posted March 20, 2015 I also agree with your statement. We can never allow ourselves to be intimidated by a bunch of half-witted butchers. Actually, that's giving them too much credit. They don't even have a half wit. Love the second photo!
