This is what ran through my mind as I saw this lovely lady tucked away between a group of other commuters while crossing the street. Kind of looks like she is fighting a crowd of fans.

I like the lighting, almost like a halo around the lady. The wide- angle works very well, giving the crowd a very dense feeling.

The feeling of the crowded street isn't so easy with a wide angle lens. You have to really get into people arm-pits

Henry - very funny. For fun, and at the risk of airing my dirty laundry in public, here is the (largely unedited) shot I took about a second earlier. You can see that the man on the left was honed in on me from the beginning. I couldn't care less about him as I was locked in on the beauty beside him

I think I prefer the second image-it has more context to it and the man looking at the camera doesn't distract, for me, from the overall effect.

Robert - I appreciate your feedback on the second. I wouldn't put either of these in the "keeper" category for me. But the first just captured my imagination more due to the crowded effect, and the guy on each side the lady who weren't with her but seemed to be protecting her. I do see your point, though. Thanks again.
