Lee Martin Posted February 22, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2015 Yes, great shot, almost looks as if it's had a bit of fill in flash, or is it just the natural reflection of the sand or sea? Great for the family album
A miller Posted February 22, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted February 22, 2015 Many thanks, Frank, Steve and Lee. I need to take them when I can get them, unfortunately. Lee - no fill flash on my M-A. I overexposed slightly given the slight backlighting and the scan kept the highlights at bay and gave me enough information to open the shadows just a little.
robert blu Posted February 22, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 22, 2015 I like this photo...the colors and the relaxed atmosphere. For sure when she will graduate it will be a pleasure to look back at this photo robert
A miller Posted February 22, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted February 22, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks, Robert. I agree with you on all counts. Shooting with film is great because the one less thing you have to worry about is trying to get an image to look like film.
Louis Posted February 22, 2015 Share #8 Posted February 22, 2015 Adam, I know exactly how you feel. My daughter loves cameras (she is collecting them), but she hates every shot I am taking of her! I believe she is the most beautiful girl in the whole world (like any other father!...), but she made me feel so bad about every shot I am taking of her that I don't dare to take her picture anymore! She is a little older than your daughter and you still have a few years before she becomes like mine. Take advantage of the little time you still got and enjoy shooting her! She is beautiful and many years from now, she will be very happy of all the photos you are taking of her! :-)
A miller Posted February 22, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted February 22, 2015 Thanks a lot, Louis. I believe that I have seen your daughter in some of your photos. There was that lovely B&W series from Denver, if I recall correctly. She is stunning and your photos are very flattering of her. I appreciate your advice and will take it to heart Best, Adam

steve kessel Posted February 23, 2015 Share #17 Posted February 23, 2015 Adam, young kids are always moving, very hard to predict what they'll do next. When you "get it" as you've done here, it's gold dust!

schmolinski Posted February 24, 2015 Share #19 Posted February 24, 2015 Adam, what a lovely picture. The colours remind me my youth at the beach. All the old images I have are looking almost like that. Thanks for such a wonderful reminder
jaapv Posted February 24, 2015 Share #20 Posted February 24, 2015 This shot will be in your family for generations, if only in the shoebox full of fond memories, to be looked at from time to time.
