XVarior Posted September 18, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted September 18, 2014 A nice image with excellent colour balance and control of difficult lighting and contrast You guess well Robert, in order to get this mood I locked aperture 3 times each on different part of the image. On her, didn't work, to her right, she turned completely underexposed, then I tried the light falling on the floor to her right, Bingo! :-)
XVarior Posted September 18, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted September 18, 2014 I love everything about the image. Thanks Frank, I was busy shooting columns and arcades down the basement of that palace, Elyssar was ahead of me trying to find a way out of that laberynth, we were a bit lost there, then she turned to tell me that there's no way to go out and we had to walk back from where we came, I said STOP, don't move... Like you, o liked everything about that scene.

carl_valiquet Posted September 19, 2014 Share #16 Posted September 19, 2014 The Director of Photography, Mr. Chapman for the film Taxi Driver, would often place the dark tones of his subject against highlights in the background. This gave depth to the image and the viewer’s imagination completed the dark areas. Looking at this great portrait, Chapman’s photography come to mind. Beautiful work! Carl* That's a huge honor to be compared to the director of that timeless movie. I never miss a Robert De Niro movie but now that you mention the lighting, I got to see it again! I don't remember how it was. Thanks for looking Carl.
