StS Posted September 6, 2014 Share #13 Posted September 6, 2014 Excellent series - I like #1 and #2 for the perspective and tonal control, #3 for the innovative positioning of the sun, #4 how it links two probably unconnected people to a new story and #5 for the dynamics. wilfredo Posted September 8, 2014 Share #16 Posted September 8, 2014 You certainly had a full photographic experience in NYC. Ironically that first shot looks like it was taken in Asia somewhere. New York has many faces!

christoph_d Posted September 15, 2014 Share #19 Posted September 15, 2014 Hi sharookh I do like the situations you caught with your camera, you definitely hit the right moment. I do have my reservations about your PP though - purely a personal preference I might add - whereby the looks of some of the protagonists in your images seems to make them look like peat bog bodies rather than living human beings. I do understand that this seems to be the fashion in digital PP at present, however it simply does not appeal to me. Best regards C.
sharookh Posted September 15, 2014 Author Share #20 Posted September 15, 2014 Christoph- Many thanks for taking the time to comment on this image. I do appreciate your opinion. I have been known to process my images in a variety of ways - some harsh, some soft and several in a more 'acceptable' manner. Many appreciate my methods, others don't. However, as you may have noticed, these images are shot from way below eye level. This gives a totally different viewpoint to the human face, almost haunting. This is how I saw people hurrying about their business at the start of the day and I felt shooting below eye level typified this. The PP accentuates this. I definitely wasn't trying to be fashionable with my treatment of the image (that's just not me), but perhaps a bit experimental and have made an effort to put a different spin to the manner in which we look and perceive, perhaps. I guess that's what it's all about......... Thanks for dropping by and giving me an opportunity to explain....... That's the beauty of this forum!!
