markforce Posted July 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Undecided between the People, Street, or Travel forum as it kinda hits all of them: my new photo book on Istanbul. The e-book and its first 30 odd pages give away the gist. Nevermind the really bad formatting in the preview, I got completely software-punk'd... (the actual e-book looks clean, though the text format is still off. Grr...) Still, I hope the pictures do the talking. All shot with the M9; lenses 21, 35 and 50. Listening to Istanbul (ebook) | Blurb CC welcome. Mark
Advertisement Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi markforce, Take a look here Photo book: Istanbul. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 30, 2014 I can't get the book to open. BTW: You'll get more people clicking through if you post one or two of the images directly here to lure us into clicking through (after Blub works again). I had posted a few of the pictures used in the book here, previously. The first have is all b/w, the 2nd part is all color. Here's two: Welcome, dear visitor! alun Posted July 30, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi Mark, It isn't that the original posting didn't work -- just that people are reluctant to click through to external sources... I have nada look and really enjoyed seeing these. Oddly (oddly for me, I mean) I enjoyed the city- and landscapes rather more than i did the 'people' photographs. I also felt the online blurb book software didn't always do your pictures justice.

On to new photography now.. :-)
newnew Posted August 2, 2014 Share #6 Posted August 2, 2014 Mark, As a native of the City, I find your photographs capture well its complexity and diversity at once. I could see the B&W pictures and they join well the "Istanbul school", probably mastered by Ara Güler, in a mix of people , places , lights , shades and expressive ordinary events with perceived contrasts. The adjunction of poems enriches and reinforces the images, and, put aside some "mise en page" limitations, I believe it is a nice success to help the people "encounter" the City for the first time.

stuny Posted August 3, 2014 Share #9 Posted August 3, 2014 This time after a long wait a message came up advising me to use Google Chrome. I guess I won't see the book.
