"Native" soldiers

On July 25, I posted a "Landscape & Travel" thread with a few images from "rediscovered" old B&W negatives "burned" with a IIIf/Summitar, stored for more than 50 years in two different countries (Belgium and Portugal) without any care and finally digitalized. There were several rolls in the box where I finally found them, unfortunately not all registered with date. But I am able to propose now some more examples of the surprising quality of these Plus-X and KB-21 "old and neglected" negatives.

Let us start with these two shots dating 1958, fired with the same IIIf/Summitar tool. On the occasion of the 1958 Brussels World Exhibition - the very first after World War 2 - Congolese soldiers partly ensured the guard of the Brussels Royal Palace. At this time, Zaire was still called "Belgian Congo", and most Belgian had never seen a "black". Needless to say that the change of guard attracted most interest.

If you are interested, more "old" pixes from the same box are to be discovered under "Nature & Wildlife", "Landscape & Travel", "Architecture" and "Other" threads.
