Lovely shots about a sad and emotionally packed subject. Let's hope the comments stay n the photos and away from the politics.

I wondered whether that would be the case too before i posted them.... but these two were my favourite images and it is the first time i have really used the 28 elmarit, and as i said, i wish i had taken my summicron instead as i feel the elmarit just does not do as good a job as the summicron....was hoping someone may have commented on that

The 28mm elmarit is a great little lens. I have it. Great for well lit street work. I imagine the summicron would be noticeably bulkier and slightly slower to use. That may not have been a issue.

I would be more concerned about the images, which are very topical.

In the light of another thread on this topic I emphasize that these pictures are reportage and don't represent (necessarily) the OP's ideals. It is simply what is happening. So let's not turn this into politics.

Yes, the summicron is larger, but not so much as my 75cron. My feeling and it is just a feeling, is that it records fine detail better. And, i do also like f2 as opposed to 2.8 for reduced depth of field to help isolate the subject.

As for the other thread, i did not even know it existed :D
