Louis Posted April 21, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted April 21, 2014 Pandji, Tim, Stuart and Thomas, thank you very much for your feedback! During my first visit in Boulder, I felt very sorry for all those youngsters who seemed so poor and lost, and I tried to be generous to them. But when got more used to the place and them; and, saw them with their smartphones, tablets and laptops, I realized this is the life style they chose, and I felt sorry again, but for different reasons! Timmyjoe Posted April 21, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Louis, We had a similar situation in Portland. The rich kids from Beaverton would come into the city, and not bathe for days, wear their hippie clothing, and panhandle on the streets. They'd do that for a few days, then head back to their posh homes. They liked to "play hippie". And I agree, it was kinda sad.
fotografr Posted April 21, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 21, 2014 Beautiful throwback shot. This has the look of San Francisco in the late 1960s. I saw a guy here in Madison a week ago with a big afro like that. Must be making a comeback. Maybe I should have hung on to my fringed leather vest. Louis Posted April 25, 2014 Author Share #20 Posted April 25, 2014 Lee, Hank, Tri, Wilfredo and all the thumbs up, thank you very much for your encouraging feedback and generous comments. Hank, I shot this picture about one or two years ago (as I go often to Boulder!). Hippies are very famous in this beautiful little town. Ironically, Boulder is considered as the most sporty and healthiest city in the US. And ironically, people have been using "Pot" for years in Colorado and Boulder in particular which may explain the great number of hippies in this town!... ( I assure you I am going to Boulder for completely different and much healthier reasons! ) ... But now, "Pot" is being legalized little by little almost everywhere in the US; the government gain a lot in taxation, it seems! I wonder if we should expect a renaissance in the hippy world!?...
