Advertisement Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Hi roguewave, Take a look here Thomas Heath. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Brenton C Posted April 11, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 11, 2014 Wow! I've got a 50 Summicron, so maybe there's hope for me! I really like this photo. I'd be putting it up on my office wall, if I'd taken it. Your subject is interesting, exudes warmth, and I love how you've captured him. Brenton C Posted April 12, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 12, 2014 Thanks Ben, This fellow's expression really pulls me in. Fairly neutral, but about to become clear, I think. Worried? Indignant? Or is he about to give us an ear to ear grin? Maybe he's a bit reserved for ear to ear, but I read him as about to give you a smile. Wishful thinking? I really admire how you caught him at such an ambiguous moment. I love his casual but coordinated look. The random paint on his vest and his pants serve to coordinate his outfit. The kerchief and the green paint on his pants, the blue on the vest with his shirt. This guy is put together, with out it looking deliberate. I think "bokeh" has begun to become a bad word, but I think you've picked just the right amount of background blurrage, to coin a repetitionism. Sometimes the blurry background almost becomes the subject, it's so obvious. I had to show your photo to a customer this afternoon, and she, too, thought it was a great picture! Brenton, he owns & runs a gallery in Harlem. He paints shirts & other clothing & sells them. He is an original. Thanks for your comments.
