stuny Posted April 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 11, 2014 Well caught, nicely done, and just a bit objectionable that she is smiling for the camera with the site of nearly 3,000 deaths in frame.

roguewave Posted April 11, 2014 Share #6 Posted April 11, 2014 Most everyone that has a connection to this site is still raw & fragile regarding the long series of events at this site, going back to the first underground explosion in 1993. I'm not sure what the "appropriate" response is supposed to be. For me, I remember my first glimpse of the buildings, still under construction, in 1973. That remains my most vibrant memory. Brenton C Posted April 11, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Tourists are often quite conspicuous, sometimes really not knowing what to do and oblivious to the abundant cues around them. I think the very thing that is not right with this scene happens to be the very thing that makes the photo. It captures their touristy oblivion. Thought provoking, and stirs an emotional reaction.
