Hi Troy,

Good to see that you made it through the migration to the new site. Yes, it is. It's big and it's heavy (but it does balance well on the DMR). I find that I really like using it more and more with the DMR.

Classic Americana--the expressions are priceless. In color this would look like a Norman Rockwell scene.

A charming and humorous look at the American midwest.

Thanks for the comments Erich, Brent and Daniel. Here is the original color version (which I am very fond of also).

I like the color version very much, and color is fitting with this shot. But you seem to be over-saturated in the red. Too much red in an image can create a muddy look when converting to grayscale (red tends to look black when converted). If you don't mind, I took your color image, knocked back the red and desaturated the image. I think the grays display a bit cleaner than in the first image.

Actually, after taking a second look, I take back what I said. Your first image is not heavy it the red channel after all. In fact it is the opposite. The red is missing. It looks like you must have selected and printed only the blue channel to get your grayscale conversion. That can work, but often creates a harsh look to the image. Maybe that was what you were after?
