Bixi Posted December 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Very often I find myself wondering how the photographer of an image might look. In my head I know all of your faces. But that's only in my head - as we know, reality is different This tread is here for everybody to submit a self portrait. I won't be the first one to post mine, but I'll post one tomorrow. Don't be shy ... Best, Bixi
Advertisement Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Hi Bixi, Take a look here Reveal Yourself.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lphong Posted December 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2009 Can it be a non-M shot? Taking a self-protrait with a rangefinder is rather difficult i guess...
andybarton Posted December 11, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2009 The M isn't the only Leica. There are lots of others to choose from, and there is always the mirror option... I will submit something at the weekend - if I can find something "suitable"
stuny Posted December 11, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2009 A very nice idea, Bixi. I've had the pleasure of meeting about 30 of you so far, but it would be nice to "see" others (as well as meeting others). Barbara, who is so smart and so exceptional in just about every way is not good at taking photos (though she frequently suggests photos). This is the only photo she took during our last holidays and it was with the D2. It is at lunch in Cavtat, Croatia, just south of Dubrovnik, about two hours before we boarded the aircraft to Budapest. If this were for a dating service site I'd use a picture form 20 years ago instead. Welcome, dear visitor! roguewave Posted December 11, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 11, 2009 I believe we had a post about 12 - 18 months ago where we uploaded images of ourselves from an earlier age & one that was more current. As I'm an old man, frequent to forget, I can't muster the memory of the post's title. Does anyone recollect this or am I just dreaming, once again. Bixi Posted December 11, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted December 11, 2009 I wasn't aware that there was a similar tread already. I did some research before starting this thread - but couldn't find anything. Anyway - nobody has to post. Only if people like to I have to apologize about my self-portrait. Obviously it wasn't shot with a Leica. I took this image a few days before receiving my M9. BUT it's a self-portrait even not shot with a Leica. In the last few month I went from natural dark hair to not so natural blonde hair. Otherwilse I look pretty much the same. I enjoy meeting you all! Thanks for posting and keep them coming. thompsonkirk Posted December 11, 2009 Share #15 Posted December 11, 2009 OK, I'll go ahead & post this one because it makes me look so much younger, thinner, & hairier than I really am. It's a pretty good likeness of the Summicron, though. Kirk (Photo by Linda Hanson, known on the forum as 'andcolor.') Welcome, dear visitor! ezc203 Posted December 11, 2009 Share #17 Posted December 11, 2009 Hello! What a pleasure it is to meet everyone. Snapped a quick one after I just got my new lenses. Unfortunately not a new Leica camera lens But I'm happy none the less.
Bixi Posted December 12, 2009 Author Share #18 Posted December 12, 2009 Thank you everybody. Not thank you so much for commenting on my photo - but thank you for positing this really nice portraits of yourselves. StS Posted December 12, 2009 Share #19 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Not taken with a Leica, but there is one in the picture - I hope, this qualifies. Taken at the night market in Kuala Lumpur, where I got the second prize in the "not dressing for the occasion" competition... Stefan Welcome, dear visitor!
