Default Male / Female - Example of an EPSON V700 scan + 2400 print

I know this is more than taboo. I am posting medium format Rollei TLR images on this site. The point I am trying to make, however, is that I am very happy with my new Epson gear and I am -essentially- recommending it. Think of it as a public service message.

V700 scanner (2400 -printer)

These pix are compressed down from 1.3gb each

This tree is Male on one side, female on the other.

It is the same tree.

Shane,

accepted - but let me pls make a comment:

it might make more sense, if you would make the original file available for download (by providing a link to your storage are).
From a tiny picture here it is impossible to judge on the Epsons scanner quality...

best - Klaus

PS: I am going to amend your title as it does not indicate your real intention

That's fair Klaus.

I am just trying to say that I am really pleased with the scans and prints I am getting from this gear and I thought I might pass it on to everyone here at Leica.

... and you're quite right, an image that is compressed by several hundred percent is a pretty difficult thing to judge. Yes, I agree.

Thank-you for your understanding!

I guess -to a certain extent- my point is not really something that is lost on anyone around here... we're all still avid film supporters!

... I'm just supporting it again... as if anyone needed any additional encouragement.

Thank-you José! I worked VERY hard on this blasted tree! I have both medium format AND Digi2 pictures of it. I have posted them (D2 shots) here before.

I can tell you (specifically) what the problem was: on the left side of the male's "thing" there is a little piece of the tree's flesh that was very white. If this thing wasn't shot at a specific time of day and in a very specific kind of light, it would give the appearance that the whites are blown out.

This darned tree was "demonically difficult".

Essentially, the tree was saying: if you want it... earn it. I spent three days on this tree.

It's the strangest thing I've ever seen. This is the only tree in this entire forest that was illuminated this way. It just sort of... *exploded* with a special luminance, as if there were a bunch of "rock concert pin spots" on it. Out of an entire forest of trees, there was just_this_one_spot. The refelection off the human-like skin of this Eucalyptus tree (after it had dropped all of its bark) illuminated all of the other trees in this forest.

Really strange.

Beautiful tree and work indeed
I'm still wondering about your choice of cut.

Besides, I'm still wondring about V750 vs. film scan (Cool Scan namely).

I am not quite sure here Shane, without knowing what it was I first had to google the v700. Are you saying the image you have here though is upload of the neg scan or document scan of the printers output?

It's just the neg scan but I would highly recommend both parts. They work beautifully together.

Johan

I didn't crop the female image. I saved her (for web) smaller for some weird reason or another. Not sure what happened there but the point still gets across.

"oops".

Oh well.

I'm not sure about the 750. It seems like it comes with a lot more software... personally, I wouldn't want it. It's usually awful. Apparently the glass has some sort of coating on it but I can't really see that costing another 150 bucks to produce. I think it's just the awful software. For example, the machine comes with silverfast. You can pitch that in the circular file as soon as you open the box. Don't even waste the hard drive space.
