"America's pastime" refers to baseball, first played in the US in the 1860s. Though it has similarities to cricket, each baseball game is concluded several days sooner than a game of cricket. In this photo we see a sporting goods store display window of the US flag made of baseball style caps. The white stars on the field of blue are provided by the logo for a New York team, the Yankees.

In India they seem have have come up with the answer to five day cricket games, try to catch it on TV if you can.
Also in the UK we have 20/20 cricket..... I'll have to explain that. Each of the two teams of eleven (actually 12) bowls 20 overs, in which there are six balls, unless there are no balls, in which case there will be more balls bowled although there is only one ball unless a ball is lost in which they will get a new ball (this is different from test cricket, where one of the umpires may request a new ball, or time may dictate that a new ball is required). The aim is still to collect as many runs as possible, these may be actually scored by running; or by not running. Four and six runs can be scored by not running, one run can be scored by the bowler bowling wide; theoretically an infinite number of runs could by scored by multiple over-throws. When ten of the eleven (12) in the first team (which may not actually be the First team) are out, the other team comes in but often, in 20/20, the team that is in will not all be out but they have to go out anyway............... Stuart, please post another baseball shot; I have not even begun to explain and (like photography) I know virtually nothing about this subject. ![]() A simple explanation here: List of cricket terms - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
