Default Burman Boy!

'Pierrot' is a pedigree 'Blue Point Tabby' Burman and quite a stunner as cats go. We love him to bits and I couldn't resist grabbing my camera to get this shot of him in our garden. If you're not a cat lover just appreciate the glorious light!

Gerald –

A gorgeous portrait with beautiful subject, light and color, but in the US we would call Pierrot a Himalayan. The Burmese are short haired and originally chocolate brown, though in recent years some have been bred for golden color, too. Himalayans tend to be astonishingly affectionate, and more dog-like in behavior than any other cat of my experience. Himalayans were originally bred from Saimese and Persian.

Hi Stuart...Many thanks for your in-depth interest. The Birman breed (how I missed my spelling on this I don't know! ) was not introduced into the UK until the mid 60's and only arrived in Europe in the 20's apparently. Himalayan's are very similar in body style but seem to have facial features more akin to a Persian. Pierrot loves to be 'with you' and is very playful......Gerald

Good old Pierot. You know we love him Ges. And yes, he is more like a dog than a cat, and loves to play chase. A great shot, mate, as I would expect from you. Give Pierot a hug from me and P.

Wow, Pierrot is a beautiful cat.
And he seems to strike a pose just so you can record his 'majesty'.
I'm a bit jealous here I must confess.. My female orange cat has a beautiful face with very playful eyes, except when she spots me holding my camera. Then she immediately pulls her 'drop dead' face.
I love the composition with Pierrot sitting on the bowl/green thing.
Good one, cats definately are not easy to portray.
