Stuart, thanks for the comments.
Please check out more of Nick's shots from the day because he took some excellent captures (including the one of me looking like Quasimodo with an M8 :-) LouisB

Proof again that it is the photographer and not the camera that is key..... mind you... I've always maintained that the Panaleica range is a little bit special when it comes to P&S. #1 and #3 are particularly effective and the flypast, which Pete F thanked me for, is very good (weren't they spread out a bit more? :-) LouisB

Ivor, that little 105 "DILDO" lens produces amazing results for what looks like a joke lens. Thanks for your hospitality and thanks to Louis for arranging and tour-guiding.

Michael and Ivor
Great set of captures. Ivor, just goes to show that Leica glass of any age is worth mounting on an M8. The resolution of the mountain elmar is impressive but I very much like the colour rendition of the 3.5. Michael, a very impressive set of captures. The window shot has a wonderfully liquid feel and the grain works very well for the Battle of Britain flight. I'm looking forward to seeing more from others in the group LouisB

Hearty thanks to Louis for organizing the event and for a very laid back tour. Also to Ivor for his generous hospitality. Above all great fun to meet and hang out together.
Look forward to another. Steve 14 whitechapel riviera rs.jpg Came across these two selling mattresses and beds in Whitechapel Rd market just before we met up 19 photographer molloy rs.jpg 20 pisser rs.jpg 25 leica shoot out rs.jpg 13 brian, steve rs.jpg |

Goodness what a high standard of images this thread possesses and I'd struggle to separate any for particular praise above the others. Here are 3 humble offerings of my own (comments are welcome because I'd like to improve!).
Pete. What the winder-cleaner sees. Wotcha, Geezer? "... and that'll be the the pole-vaulting area."

Steve, love the "Whitechapel Riviera" photograph as well as the cheeky capture of the geezer trying to revive the dead tree.
Farnz, another excellent geezer capture as well as a sly reference to the forthcoming events of 2012 (to which Steve and I won't be getting an invitation :-) LouisB

Some excellent images guys. I'm very impressed by the shot taken with the Mountain Elmar! The bed photo and Wotcha Geezer are very original. I didn't see them, must have been on the first part of the tour.
Amazing what everyone can produce from a casual hours strolling around! |

Great pictures, guys, of a great day. Belatedly, a few snaps of my own - but nothing very original, I'm afraid.
