Tim, well done. I think you can even get darker with the grit and grease & still get the texuture. Excellent frame, I also think there are some contrast gradients in his clothes that can be exploited to heighten the atmosphere. I like this very much.

thank you all. yes, you're right Ben, it could go darker. which accentuates the nicotine staining of the hands. but, I think, makes the picture harder to "read" at first casual glance. classic dilemma: aesthetics versus immediate impact. a trade-off, maybe?
