What do you think of it, now it's opening up, Tim?

I was there on Saturday afternoon (and yesterday evening). It was absolutely heaving on Saturday.

I reckon that they've done a pretty good job so far. Going to kill the top end of Church Street, though...

Well, timing is a bit dodgy given the climate, flocks of black swans everywhere. There seem to be lots of empty shop spaces, whether uncompleted or unsold I don't know. But today, when I took the pic, it seemed busy enough. It lacks greenery I have to say. And there seemed to be an awful lot of guys standing about in hardhats and hi-viz. Did his Lordship, the Duke of Westminster really lose £180m of the billion pounds investment - as I have seen reported - cos of delays (read Spanish practice) and lack of takers?

Tim -

I think this image is almost superb, just needing a touch of three things in post processing: to punch it up, rotate about 1 degree to the left to level it, and a bit of sharpening. My example below may be a bit too much.

thanks for your interest Stuart. Yes, it did need sharpening/brightening and the builder needed more clarity. (no excuses, I was in a hurry to post) but the drift downwards of text was deliberate. I preferred to straighten the baseline. The wrong choice, maybe. But in any case, this was taken in a quick flurry of opportunity: I saw the door open and moved a bit closer. In a perfect world I would have been exactly 90 degrees to the hoarding. I wasn't. Anyway, I think I'll go back for another try. Its like fishing for trout, isn't it?
You find a good pool that repays return.

He has lost £180m so far... but then again, he is in it for the long term, having been in the property business since the 1600s

Come September, the rest of the retail will be open, as will the restaurants and bars and, importantly, Chavasse Park, leading down to the Albert Dock.

This is very much a "work in progress"
