Default 12mm city at night with full moon

M8 and 12mm. The lens caught the moon too.

Caryl, great image. Looks like a frame from one of San Francisco's best filmakers, David Fincher.

Beautiful shot, Carol.
How on earth did you get the moon to look so big with a 12mm lens?

Thank you both. I have no idea why it is that size, I put the camera on a bench to use as a tripod and just shot.

12mm bottom, about 100mm top and some scissors and photoshop glue made this mess.

Not so. The only part photoshopped was to bring out detail in the moon. The moon really did get included in the shot but was almost all white so I played a bit.

glad yo liked it, Martin.

That looks pretty nice Caryl.

I would back off on the moon a bit, they way it is now it has a Lunar Cell look.

Default I agree with Peter

I would ease up on the PS for the moon
it appears too sharp in this version & therefore unnatural
the lovely sky is compelling& you have a marvelous view of a fabled city
this photograph is very fine as it stands, but I believe it would work even better if you tame that moon a bit

The moon was actually bright white with no detail. I could add a darker moon. Any suggestions?

Default here is what I had in mind

I desaturated and brightened the moon a bit using PS

96202717.QiN2ux2C.FullmoonoverSF12mmlensrw.jpg

I also thought about blurring this a bit, but did not as I was working with your web reduced image ...I think a bit of a blur might help as well, but this (and all such tweaks) is best done with the original file
this is a fine cityscape as it stands, but the moon in the original detracts, IMHO
