Jantar Mantar

This astronomical observatory was built in 1742 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II who also built the more famous one in Jaipur 10 years later. They were used for various astronomical observations and predictions.

I've posted both the colour and B&W versions. Preferences?

Couldn't decide whether this should be in Travel, Architecture, Technology (it seems to be a bit of all three) so I've put it here!

A wonderful venue, and I'm sorry I didn't catch this shot. Superb in every way. I slightly prefer the color.
