Hi guyz,
First, thanx for all the responses to my first attempt ("first time poster - first time pix) at using my dad's precious m4-based equipment. The more I use this equipment (that is practically as old as me!) I am stunned at the 'return' that is given back. OK, back to the pix...as you may remember, we had a bit of a doozie (snow storm) here in the New York area, last Friday. Anticipating this (and the possibility of getting out of work early :-) I brought my M4 in with me on the LIRR - but this time I decided to just use the 35mm lens for 'all' shots. The following day (Sat.) AND Sunday too, the wife and I, again, came into Manhattan and took even more pix. Here's my second attempt: http://ifly.freeyellow.com/miscell/leica-2/index.htm Enjoy, Gerry (First attempts at: http://ifly.freeyellow.com/miscell/leica-1/index.htm) |

Hi Doc,
Thankyou! Yep, we moseyed around the whole Park and ventured around by using all the 'wooded trails' - by Belvedere castle, the lakes on the west side, etc. then skidaddled east by the zoo etc. The 'stark contrasts' made for some nice compositions and the 'long shadows' (when the sun came out on Sunday) were awesome. Speaking of that sunny Sunday, before heading up from Penn, we detoured to Grand Central for some pix. It wasn't too crowded but with the 'sides' of the tops of both staircases 'closed off' - it meant you were ONLY allowed to take pix from a 'confined' area - along with all the tourists. For the Grand Central Terminal shot - I put the M4 on a 'bean bag' and set the self-timer - to expose for 1sec. -- because if you use a tripod in and around 'city buildings' you will get 'hassled'. Today, Sunday March 2, it's sunny out -- so we intend to go up to the 'Cloisters' to take a looksee. Cordially, Gerry Last edited by oibal60 : 03/02/08 at 01:59 PM. |

Hi 'Stuny',
Yep I've seen others do that. Since I had more than a couple - I didn't want to be obnoxious and 'hog' the whole place with a 'plethora of pix' . What I might do in the future is, say, post one (to whet the appetite?) directly to the forum and include the link to the others... Thanx again, Gerry |
