Default Book Shop Star

Walking down the street in Berlin, here's my first image off my spanking new D-Lux3.

Thanks for looking.

Seems to work OK, I'd crop out the light; pick a good book and sit down in the big chair.

Very nice tonal range, I'm impressed. I agree with Pete's comment about cropping, I'd also add more sharpening. Great result from such a tiny camera.

Greg, wonderful capture. I'm going to join the choir. Loose the spot & enjoy the frame. Great exposure control with the backlighting BTW.

I don't agree, cropping out the light would make the light on the rear wall illogical. Leave it as it is; it a very godd photograph.

Illogical? So you can't have a play of sunlight without including the sun in the frame?

Greg -

I like it as it is without the crop for the relationship between the light and the flag or tallis. Wonderful exposure, tonal range, tonal gradations and details.

Thanks for all your comments. I considered cropping the light out at one stage, but for me it was a big part of what I originally saw and what attracted my attention, also I feel it adds something to the story within the image..

It was shot handheld at 1sec, so that maybe where some slight movement/softness creeps in.

Thanks again for your comments, I appreciate it..and I love this little camera..

Greg.

Greg, as I said earlier, great capture. Here's how I saw your frame. Hope you don't mind.
